Zai Shun Curry Fish Head
Zai Shun is a no-frills Teochew seafood stall in a Jurong East coffeeshop that has held a Michelin Bib Gourmand since 2017. Despite the 'curry fish head' name, regulars come above all for the steamed fish — typically red garoupa — prized for how impeccably fresh it is. The assam-style curry fish head, Teochew porridge and zi char plates like braised pork belly round out the order. It's a basic, often chaotic HDB coffeeshop stall that opens only in the daytime. Go early: it runs 7am–3pm, closes on Wednesdays, and frequently sells out before closing.
