Keng Eng Kee Seafood
Keng Eng Kee — KEK to its fans — is a much-loved zi char (home-style Chinese stir-fry) institution in an Alexandra Village coffeeshop, now run by the third generation of the founding family. It has been a Michelin Guide listee for years, prized for serious wok hei and a handful of dishes you won't find elsewhere. The must-order is Moonlight Hor Fun — charred flat noodles crowned with a raw egg yolk you stir through — alongside coffee pork ribs, salted-egg crab and claypot liver. The setting is a bright, no-frills neighbourhood coffeeshop built for big sharing tables. It gets packed at dinner, so reserve ahead and pre-order the crab, which often sells out.
