Southern Ridges

The Southern Ridges string together a chain of hilltop parks via 10 kilometres of elevated walkways and forest trails, letting you hike from Mount Faber to Kent Ridge almost entirely above the traffic. The showpiece is Henderson Waves: 36 metres up, Singapore's highest pedestrian bridge undulates in sculptural ribs of yellow balau wood, its curved alcoves perfect for a pause and a photo. Along the way the Forest Walk's steel boardwalk threads through secondary rainforest alive with birdsong. It's free and open around the clock — go for sunset when the bridge and skyline glow, then catch the cable car or city views from Mount Faber. Bring water; shade is patchy and the tropics are humid.
