Jin Jin Dessert

Jin Jin is a heartland dessert stall that has built a big reputation for its chendol, piled high and drenched in fragrant gula melaka. The shaved ice is fine and fronded with green pandan jelly, soft red beans and a generous pour of fresh coconut milk, struck through with smoky palm sugar. It's cheap, fast and deeply refreshing, the sort of place locals detour for on a hot afternoon. There are other tong sui on the menu, but the chendol is the one to get. Find the stall at ABC Brickworks and eat it before the ice melts in the heat.
