Kim Choo Kueh Chang

A Joo Chiat heritage institution since 1945, Kim Choo is famed for its Nyonya rice dumplings (kueh chang) and a rainbow of handmade nyonya kueh — kueh salat, ondeh ondeh and more. The shop doubles as a cultural showcase, with Peranakan beadwork and kebaya upstairs. Everything is made by hand to old family recipes, so the kueh tastes traditional and not too sweet. Pick up a box as a gift, or eat them fresh with a kopi.
