Founded in 1938, Lim Chee Guan is the other bak kwa heavyweight, beloved for its tender, juicy charcoal-grilled pork and famous for Chinese New Year queues that can run for hours along New Bridge Road. Many locals swear its slices are softer and smokier than any rival. It's sold by weight, freshly grilled, and best eaten soon after buying. Outside the festive crush, the wait is manageable — go off-peak and grab a few slices warm.
