Kok Sen Restaurant

Kok Sen is a 50-year-old Cantonese zi char institution on Keong Saik Road, run by the third generation and holding a Michelin Bib Gourmand. It's beloved for smoky, wok-charred classics, several of them house specialities. The signature is its big prawn hor fun — fat prawns over rice noodles in a rich, smoky gravy — followed by claypot yong tau foo and prawn-paste chicken (har cheong gai). It moved a few doors down in 2022 to a more comfortable, air-conditioned unit, though tables are still tightly packed. Weekend dinners draw long queues, so come at lunch or expect to wait.
