Allauddin's Briyani is a Tekka Centre institution, dishing out South Indian–style biryani from the bustling Little India market for decades. The rice is fluffy and golden, served with your choice of chicken, mutton or fish, plus dhal, curry and a fried papadum. It's cheaper and more everyday than the dum-style specialists, the kind of honest plate locals eat for lunch. Eating it amid the colour and clamour of Tekka is half the experience. Pair it with a mango lassi and browse the wet market and sari shops afterwards.
