At 165 metres, the Singapore Flyer is one of the largest observation wheels in Asia, turning slowly above Marina Bay at the edge of the F1 night-race circuit. Each of its 28 air-conditioned capsules is roomy enough to walk around in, and a single gentle rotation takes about half an hour — long enough to pick out the skyline, Marina Bay Sands, Gardens by the Bay and, on clear days, ships off the Indonesian islands. Sunset and dusk flights are the most magical, as the city switches on its lights beneath you. You can even book a flight with cocktails or a full dinner served on board.
